Hi guys,
I just recently bought a new Mac Pro with 32GB of RAM to host my FileMaker 13 server. I just inspect my Activity Monitor and saw that it is "Not Responding". However, I can still connect to it outside through FM client as well as CWP is working with XML.
The "Recent hangs" counter also keep on incrementing. I am wondering if anyone of you come across this behavior? Memory leak?

Due to financial difficulties, we are not able to purchase the latest Filemaker software.
Is it possible to purchase a new copy of Filemaker Server 8 and downgrade our database to that?

Yesterday one of our FM11 files crashed (I know, we haven't upgraded for reasons out of the scope of this question. We are, however, running the most recent version of FM11). I checked the event log and discovered the Event 618: "Database or temporary file "File_Name" is damaged and has been closed. (824)". I also tracked down some other server events that occured during this time: Event ID 900, 902, 1003, and 1066.
I restored the most recent back-up file into production and haven't encountered any problems since. I was able to recover the damaged file and pull data from each table that was updated during the time between most recent back up and crash (about an hour worth of production).
The back-up file, which is currently in production, has passed the consistency check, however, I'm worried that some type of insiduous corruption might exisit within the file. Should I be concerned? Also, I'm working on a re-design, we will soon be using a different database program for some of our workflow processes.
Should I rebuild the file from scratch and import my data back into the new file? Any comment would be greatly appreciated.

Hello!
We have a client who absolutely insists on using IE9 to browse a FMS13 database over WebDirect.
I see from the minimum specs that only IE10 & 11 are supported. Does anyone have experience in viewing WD over IE9? What does 'supported' actually mean in this instance - 'results may be cranky'?
Any help gratefully received.

What are the various auto logout options for databases?
Under FMP 13 Server console > Web Publishing > FileMaker WebDirect... I see that a 'session timeout' can be set.
How is auto logoff of databases controlled that are opened with FMP Client? Is that a per database setting configured within the database? Is there a way to control this system-wide?

We have some FM13 databases that are used as external data source by other FM13 databases and we don't want users to see them in the remote databases list.
Is it possible to hide databases in the remote server database list but still be able to use them as an external data source?
Importing them instead of using as external data source would be complicated because users have different security for each database depending on what department and AD groups they are in and the security matrix to have all the tables in one database would be a nightmare to administer.

I know this has been asked before but I didn't see any clear cut answers.
I need to host a WordPress website and pull and push Filemaker 13 data into using it's web pages.
Ideally having a separate Apache running WP and PHP API.
Question are:
1. can I call the FMS from a remote web server with the API?
2. If not, can I run WP on the FMS 13? (using a 2 machine deployment I guess)
Answers to these questions will at least get me started....

p.s. I don't need to sync data from FM into WP using things like Lauren's Sync utility - I need to actively query and update info in FM

Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere. I couldn't find it in my various searches.
I've recently moved FileMaker Server 13 from one server to a newer, dedicated one. Both old and new servers were on the same network and have kept the same NAT IP address (I changed my NAT table to point to the new server's Mac address). The external static IP address has also not changed. (In the example below, database.server.com is routed to the static IP address, and the NAT table takes care of routing traffic to the new server based on its IP address, which is the same IP address that the old server has been using.)
On the old FileMaker Server 13 users could access the served databases using the URL:
http://database.server.com/fmi/webd#DATABASE
On the new server, users get an error: Not Found The requested URL /fmi/webd was not found on this server.
If it helps, a user entering http://database.server.com receives a simple screen saying "It Works!".
If feel certain I'm overlooking something obvious (Firewall ports don't appear to be blocked, NAT forwarding looks right, FileMaker databases have "Enable FileMaker WebDirect" checked, databases have at least one account in the privilege set that includes "Access via FileMaker WebDirect (fmwebdirect)", and so on.)
Any suggestions for how to go about troubleshooting this little problem would be most appreciated.

HI,
I just updated to FMS 13.0v2 and the admin console is having problems. No files or clients are listed on the Activity page. Schedules are not visible either. Files are being served properly. However it's not possible to edit a schedule. Oddly, the Close All command and Open All seem to work and the results can be seen in the Log. I've restarted the server machine. No change. Is anyone else having these problems?

I just installed a SSL certificate using fmsadmin in FMPS 13.01 on a Mac OS Server 10.8.5 and it managed to block all access to my database by FMP clients and through WebDirect. After an agonizing hour or so with no indications anything was wrong in the Admin Console or anywhere else other then that none of my users could log into the database, I removed the serverCustom.pem file which was created by fmsadmin in the /Library/FileMaker Server/CStore folder when I uploaded my cert. As soon as I did this everything began working again.
I had installed exactly as described on page 191 of the FMP Server Help Guide and the SSL cert did show when I tested it on the site through WebDirect. The only issue was that the cert was missing the primary and secondary intermediate certs because FMP doesn't provide any guidance on how to install them. However, I cannot imagine how having the primary and secondary missing could cause all database access to be blocked. I tested the cert with the Thawte cert verification tool and it show up fine except for the missing intermediaries.
Another interesting note. After I removed the serverCustom.pem file, I checked our site from multiple browsers/boxes. In every instance it still showed our newly installed cert and not the default FMI one. I thought that if the serverCustom.pem file was removed it would default to the FMI cert so not sure why they are showing, albeit without the proper intermediate certs being in place.
Of course support is closed now but I will be taking back up with them tomorrow. I'm back but the SSL issue remains unresolved.
Anyone else run into this?

FM Server 13 comes with one connection for FM Go and I purchased an additional 5 concurrent connections for FM Go and the server shows that we have 6 altogether. However, only 5 people can connect when using FM Go when on our network. The 6 connections is for FM Go only right? And doesn't include computers on the network which can connect, for sake of my post, free? We do not use WebDirect anywhere, it isn't even turned on.
Any thoughts on why the server is only allowing for 5 connections and not 6? I looked at all the clients connected to FM server and there aren't any other people using FM Go at the time.

I am trying to enable encrypting on Server 13.0.2.295 through the Secure Connections section on the database server tab of the Admin-Console.
When I do, anyone trying to access WebDirect gets an error message. This happens in Internet Explorer and Chrome.
In Chrome I get:
You attempted to reach <IP address>, but the server presented a certificate issued by an entity that is not trusted by your computer's operating system. This may mean that the server has generated its own security credentials, which Chrome cannot rely on for identity information, or an attacker may be trying to intercept your communications.
In IE I get:
The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority.
The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address.
Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.
If I bypass this and still go to the WebDirect site, SSL get shut down in the web browsers.
Where do I find the proper SSL Certificate and how do I make it trusted by windows, so this no longer happens?

Is there any difference if I use the Upload to Filemaker Server menu item in FM Pro, or if I simply copy the databases into one of the Server directories.
If I try to upload I get 'Connection failed' error.
If I copy the database to the server folder and open it in Server Admin then clients can connect and use the database.
Do I need to try and fix the Connection Failed error or can I simply copy the databases manually?

When installing fm server 13 on a new windows server 2012r2 essentials server we get the error that port 80 and 443 is in use. Even when stopping IIS, it still says 80/443 is in use.
Can't we run the filemaker web server on another port than 80/443? And how can we specify this during installation?

Has anyone experienced this?
I create a user account with an Add Account script step. I also send an e-mail to the newly created user with the logon credentials and information for accessing the database using Web Direct. The user receives the e-mail with their logon ID and password.
When the user attempts to use these credentials to logon, they get a "The account name and password you entered does not match those for any FileMaker account."
The same is true if I use those same credentials to access the database via FileMaker Pro Advanced.
Here's the kicker, though. If I log in using an admin account and make a change in Manage Security to the account (such as change the password), the account is now accessible both via Web Direct and via FileMaker Pro.
It seems to me that there is something not quite right about the account that is created via a script step.
Any ideas? Do I need to do something further to authenticate the account from within the script, perhaps? I'm requiring a password change on first log in. Perhaps that's not a good idea. My script step looks like this:
Add Account [Account Name: my account@mydomain.com; Password: (hidden); Privilege Set: "MyPrivilegeSet"; Expire password]

This is a question related to port conflicts. I have Filemaker Server running on my Apple Server computer. We are hang issues with Port #443 and Port #80. I would like to keep everything on this one computer if possible. Do you have any suggestions related to changing these 2 ports in the Filemaker Server program? Do I just pick any numbers? How will this affect us after?? I am sort of lost with this Port issue. Thanks for any help.

Evreything was working fine untill yesterday, when clients could not see datases hosted, If I acces the remote files using the wifi connection "Local host" I have no problem, but when the clients or myself try to acces using "Favourite host" remotely, no databases can be seen (I´m attaching images)
